Heavenly Admins
Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pg 367; “Every man that has been baptized and belongs to the kingdom has a right to be baptized for those who have gone before; and as soon as the law of the Gospel is obeyed here by their friends who act as proxy for them, the Lord has administrators there to set them free. A man may act as proxy for his own relatives; the ordinances of the Gospel which were laid out before the foundations of the world have thus been fulfilled by them, and we may be baptized for those whom we have much friendship for.”
2 Corinthians 5:8; “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
Romans 14:17; “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”
I’ve often wondered about the practice of baptisms for the dead and the performance of other ordinances in the Mormon heaven. Why are non-Mormons in heaven to begin with? The whole idea that God needs administrators is unbiblical as God doesn’t need anyone to do any work for Him.
Furthermore, if we’re separated from our bodies when we die then exactly who are these administrators and how do they baptize spirits?
