Discourses of Brigham Young, pg 50; “Things were first created spiritually; the Father actually begat the spirits, and they were brought forth and lived with him. Then he commenced the work of creating earthly tabernacles, precisely as he had been created in this flesh himself, by partaking of the coarse material that was organized and composed this earth, until his system was charged with it, consequently the tabernacles of his children were organized from the coarse materials of this earth.” – Brigham Young
Isaiah 40:28-29; “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. 29 He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.”
Numbers 23:19; “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”
Of course Brigham’s teachings are exactly the opposite of what Paul also said in the resurrection chapter – 1 Cor. 15:44-47!
If you’re LDS I respectfully ask you to think about the following questions:
If it’s true that God had a father who had a father…who was the first god and how was he created?
If the god of Mormonism is an exalted physical human being then how did he and his goddess wife beget spirit babies?
Why would the goddess wife’s pregnancy have to last nine months like pregnancies for humans do on earth if she’s not giving birth to a physical person?
Ask the Mormon in your life what they think about these things.
