Millennial Star, Vol. 17, No. 50, December 15, 1855, pg 785; “It is evident that truth, and its opposite, or the principles of good and evil must be co-existent with each other, and that the presence of one has ever been necessary to develop the nature and powers of the other. From this it would appear that organizations and intelligences must experience the effects of evil in order to understand its opposite, be redeemed by a sacrifice similar to the made for this earth, and receive purification, sanctification, and final redemption through faith, good works and obedience to similar laws and ordinances. Co-existent with the Gods of Eternity, there must have always been personal representatives of evil, or devils for them to subdue, in order that there might be an opposite in all things. Without opposition there can be no progression; without hate, no love; without darkness, no light; without sorrow, no joy; without a hell, no heaven; without devils, no Gods. All things must necessarily work out the designs of the Almighty, and increase His glory, exaltation, and power.”
Galatians 5:21-23; “Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Our Lord and God has made it abundantly clear there’s no inheritance for those who participate in anything evil. If this is truth then why would evil need to coexist with truth and goodness?
Truth and evil in the sense this teaching is proclaiming is a form of the Yin-Yang theory which is nothing more than witchcraft. God doesn’t need anything or anyone to fulfill His purposes – He’s self existent!
That whole quote sounds as if Francis Bacon could have written it. The philosophy is the same.
Amen to that! While it was never proven he was part of the Rosicrucian movement, his ideals and philosophy was nonetheless very similar – his book The New Atlantis goes to prove that. I’m not convinced he wasn’t part of their societies in some part. Closed intellectual societies like the Rosicrucian movements were nothing less than another form of Masonry from the 17th to 21st century and Gnosticism from the 1st to 3rd centuries AD.
Sadly, their belief that knowledge brings salvation leads them further from the Lord.
