1 Nephi 10:18; “For he is the same yesterday, to-day, and forever; and the way is prepared for all men from the foundation of the world, if it so be that they repent and come unto him.”
Hebrews 13:8; “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever”.
The Book of Mormon uses the phrase “the same yesterday, today and tomorrow” seven times. Each time it’s used to describe a characteristic of God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit.
Here’s a list of where you can find this in the BoM. You’ll want to take notice of the dates when each was written –
1 Nephi 10:18; “For he is the same yesterday, to-day, and forever…” – BC 600-592
2 Nephi 2:4; “…for the Spirit is the same, yesterday, today, and forever…” – BC 588-570
2 Nephi 27:23; “…I am the same yesterday, today, and forever…” – BC 559-545
2 Nephi 29:9; “…I am the same yesterday, today, and forever…” – BC 559-545
Alma 31:17; “…thou art the same yesterday, today, and forever…” – BC 74
Mormon 9:9; “…that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever…” – 400-421 AD
Moroni 10:19; “…remember that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever…” – abt 421 AD
Now think about this –
The book of Hebrews was written circa 65 AD.
How did Nephi know what the author of Hebrews would say more than 600 yrs before it was even written?
How did Moroni or Mormon know this phrase if they didn’t have access to this book?
Why were the authors of the Book of Mormon using this phrase, especially when it doesn’t reflect Mormon theology?
The god of Mormonism has been definitively shown not to be eternal regardless of what the Church says. The Mormon god was once a man who became god. You can’t be a man when you’re a boy and neither can my car today be the Mustang w/ a 289 engine that I raced years ago. I can pretend the car I have today is the car I had 30 yrs ago, but that’s not what I see sitting in my garage.
