A few days ago while on Facebook I noticed numerous pages by a group called Family Share. At first glance the titles of the pages seem unassuming, and with titles like I love my family, I love my mom, and I love my dog they sound more like something a child would create instead of the blatant deception they are.
As I further investigated the pages I noticed a pattern, most of the pages have the same “I love…….” mantra with one very clear, one very noticeable exception. I’m referring to the Family Share Facebook page titled “I Am A Child of God”. This may mean nothing to most Christians, but for a former Mormon this, plus the use of the word “family” in the name of their organization screams MORMONISM.
It only took me a quick search and a few clicks with the mouse to learn I was correct, and I really didn’t want to be right. I wanted to believe this organization was genuine, and truly something Christians could enjoy without being subliminally indoctrinated on Mormonism. But unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
On the website for Meridian Magazine, in an article posted on January 14, 2013 we read:
“FamilyShare.com, run by Deseret Digital Media, is owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, under the Deseret Management Corporation. Deseret Digital Media also runs KSL.com and DeseretNews.com. As with KSL.com and DeseretNews.com, this is not an official publication of the Church.”

We can also read of Family Share’s origins here on LDS Media Talk:
“FamilyShare.com is a new website that is loaded with practical advice and tips to strengthen families and marriages. Deseret Digital Media (owned by the LDS Church) launched FamilyShare.com with the mission to enlighten, strengthen, and inspire hundreds of millions of families worldwide.”

While Family Share may not be an “official publication” of the Church, it has its fingerprints all over it.
Why the need for the disguise?
Why do they feel the need to hide who they truly are?
What I find most heartbreaking in all of this is the amount of Christians who have no idea what they’ve subscribed to in “liking” these pages. Daily their news feeds on their social media sites are being inundated with little whispers of Mormonism, and they haven’t a clue what they’ve truly gotten themselves into.
Well that has to end.
I hope my short little article helps someone from being deceived by them. If you’ve already liked one or more of their pages I’m not saying you should unlike them. You’ve been informed of who they really are now, now you know they’re lost and don’t know the one true and living God. If you feel so inclined you can now share the truth with them, and witness to those Mormons who are on these pages, or at least inform your friends and family who have also “liked” these pages so that they know just who Family Share truly is as well.
In Christ,
