D&C 111:2-5; “I have much treasure in this city for you, for the benefit of Zion, and many people in this city, whom I will gather out in due time for the benefit of Zion, through your instrumentality. 3 Therefore, it is expedient that you should form acquaintance with men in this city, as you shall be led, and as it shall be given you. 4 And it shall come to pass in due time that I will give this city into your hands, that you shall have power over it, insomuch that they shall not discover your secret parts; and its wealth pertaining to gold and silver shall be yours. 5 Concern not yourselves about your debts, for I will give you power to pay them.” – August 6, 1836
Doctrine and Covenants 1:37; “Search these commandments, for they are true and faithful, and the prophecies and promises which are in them shall all be fulfilled.”
Isaiah 8:20; “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them”.
You can find this and more than 100 other false prophecies of Joseph Smith on our site, detailing the immense amount of lies he told in his relatively short career as the leader of the Mormon faith.
In addition to what we’ve already posted on our site about this particular false prophecy (see below) one would have question why a prophet of God would send his followers to dig up buried treasure. We have no choice but to wonder aloud what they must have thought when no such treasures were found…
This prophecy from Joseph Smith proved wrong everywhere. They never took over Salem, Mass. and Salem never paid off the LDS debt. The other problem with this prophecy is how Smith claimed the Mormon god told him they’d find a lot of treasure up in Salem. The only thing found here is Smith’s lies and his empty pockets with nothing to pay off their debts.
We pray that Mormons will remember D&C 1:37 when they see this prophecy and accept that Smith lied to them from the very beginning and continues to do so through their so-called sacred canon today.
