Doctrine and Covenants 27:11; “And also with Michael, or Adam, the father of all, the prince of all, the ancient of days”.
General Conference ‘Our Own Liahona,’ October 1976; “We warn you against the dissemination of doctrines which are not according to the scriptures and which are alleged to have been taught by some of the General Authorities of past generations. Such, for instance, is the Adam-God theory. We denounce that theory and hope that everyone will be cautioned against this and other kinds of false doctrine.” – Spencer W. Kimball
Daniel 7:13; “I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him”.
If the Adam-God doctrine isn’t true, why doesn’t Doctrine and Covenants reflect the Church’s latest directive to disregard this teaching? Why is it still in their canon?
If the Mormon missionaries knocked on my door today I’d be asking them about this!
Also ask your Mormon friends and loved ones how Adam could fulfill all these roles yet Jesus couldn’t possibly be God or why their god doesn’t have the power to create everything there is out of nothing.
One more thing – if the Adam-God theory is false does that make Brigham Young a false prophet? If not, then how do they justify this in their own heart?
