General Conference, ‘Lord I Believe,’ April 2013; “Except in the case of His only perfect Begotten Son, imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with. That must be terribly frustrating to Him, but He deals with it. So should we.” – Jeffery R. Holland
Zephaniah 3:17; “The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
Strong’s Talking Greek and Hebrew Dictionary tells us the transliteration for rejoice is Śûś. It means to make cheerful, be glad, bright.
Where in this description do we see how terribly frustrated God must be with us? God is patient and if He wasn’t we wouldn’t be here! He loves us with an unending love and rejoices over us!
To say that it’s hard to get rid of the old tapes when you leave Mormonism would be the understatement of the year. Mormonism thrives on belittling people so they can exalt and elevate themselves to control people.
Jesus told us that if we know the truth then we’re free!
John 8:32; “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”.
Furthermore, Jesus didn’t just behave His way into the Kingdom of God. He wasn’t sexually begotten because Jesus is the Creator which means He is God, thus His being perfect and all…
Lastly – while God is indeed patient, He’s also unable to put up with our sin forever. There will be a day when we will see Him and answer for what we’ve done. However, to insinuate God is fed up with your little ways isn’t true!
You’re not a burden to Him, you’re not an afterthought, you’re not the reason there’s sin in the world, and you’re not irritating to Him! Sure, He’ll be sad for you if/when you sin, but He knows that you’ll learn and desire to come back to Him because He’s instilled you with His Spirit.
