Isaiah 61:1-2c; “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 …to comfort all that mourn”.
John 8:31-32; “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

…Provide freedom from the bondage of sin and death…Mormons don’t believe this. Their salvation comes through their works. Jesus’ birth provided the opportunity for them to work for their salvation, thus the common LDS saying ‘endure to the end’.

General Conference, ‘The Strength to Endure,’ October 2013; “Our ability to endure to the end in righteousness will be in direct proportion to the strength of our testimony and the depth of our conversion. When our testimonies are strong and we are truly converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ, our choices will be inspired by the Holy Ghost, they will be Christ-centered, and they will support our desire to endure in righteousness.” – Richard J. So sad…
I just can’t imagine my life like that anymore. Jesus is such a constant comfort to me – the Bible is filled with so many things for us to learn and none of the things I’ve learned since becoming a Christian 18 years ago even closely resembles the teachings of Mormonism.
When I left Mormonism, I didn’t know or understand how to read the Bible or that it was a personal message meant for me. That phrase was never in my vocabulary as a Mormon.
Today my biggest dilemma with the Bible is deciding which book I’m going to study next! I’m always looking forward to Bible studies – just the thought that I’m going to learn something new about God fills me with peace and gives me a sense of excitement that He’s taking me on another pathway of His.
I pray people like my mother will know this someday…

Wow, reading Brigham Young is like having a knife thrust in my heart. Just plain awful, and sinister too.
