3 Nephi 19:4; “And it came to pass that on the morrow, when the multitude was gathered together, behold, Nephi and his brother whom he had raised from the dead, whose name was Timothy, and also his son, whose name was Jonas, and also Mathoni, and Mathonihah, his brother, and Kumen, and Kumenonhi, and Jeremiah, and Shemnon, and Jonas, and Zedekiah, and Isaiah—now these were the names of the disciples whom Jesus had chosen—and it came to pass that they went forth and stood in the midst of the multitude.”
Matthew 10:7-8; “And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.”
Today we have three more examples of Joseph Smith lifting events from the Bible and incorporating them into the Book of Mormon.
1.Raising people from the dead.
2.Twelve disciples in America just like the Bible.
3.Being stoned to death by persecutors.
Let’s take a quick look at these events to see if these things are plausible c 400 AD here in America.
How did this fellow Nephi have a brother with a Greek name?
How did they learn Greek?
Smith said there wasn’t any Greek or Latin on the plates so how did this happen?
Why was Nephi’s brother Timothy stoned to death by unbelievers like Stephen was in the Bible?
The text in 3 Nephi 7:19 says persecutors were angry with Nephi so they stoned Timothy, but it wasn’t clear as to what exactly Timothy did that was deserving of death.
Did people stone each other to death in Mesoamerica in 400 AD?
Why would Timothy be stoned to death because Nephi said something?
Where did Nephi learn how to raise Timothy from the dead? Who taught him this?
Where’s the evidence these 12 disciples existed?
