Brigham Young University Fireside, “The Mystery of Godliness,” 6 January 1985; “He [God] is a holy man and has a body of flesh and bones. It is written: “No unclean thing can dwell . . . in his presence; for, in the language of Adam,
Man of Holiness is his name, and the name of his Only Begotten is the Son of Man, even Jesus Christ” (Moses 6:57). That is, he is Ahman, and the name of his Only Begotten is Son Ahman…He is the Eternal Father, the Father of Spirits. God lives in the family unit and is the Father of Spirits, of spirit men and spirit women, hosts of whom are now being born as mortal beings…” – Bruce R. McConkie, Quorum of the Twelve
Numbers 23:19; “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”
Where in the Bible does it say the Holy God of Heaven is up there having marital relations with goddess wives?
Where in the Bible does it say Jesus’ name is ‘Son Ahman’?
Where in the Bible is Adam ever referred to as ‘Man of Holiness’?
Mormons write in telling us that events from Joseph Smith’s day aren’t always relevant for what’s going on in the Church today. While I highly disagree with their concepts, I just want to point out that Bruce McConkie didn’t live in Joseph’s day.
Mr. McConkie delivered this speech to the young adults at BYU in 1985, thus, Joe Smith’s blasphemy is still a standard M.O. for the Church.
If the Church has evolved since the days of Joe Smith, why are their apostles still lauding his doctrines and why are they encased in Mormon canon today? See Moses 6:57.
