D&C 46:13; “To some it is given by the Holy Ghost to know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that he was crucified for the sins of the world.”
Jeremiah 31:31-34; “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
Almost six hundred years before Jesus was born God told His people about a day that would soon come where everyone would know Him. This doesn’t mean everyone accepted Him, it means everyone would know Him.
God miraculously changed man’s heart! Think upon this today – what a cool thing for God to do!
Eighteen hundred years after God did this mighty work, along comes Joe Smith telling people just the opposite. What a shame it was, then and now, someone would do such a thing.
Joe’s revelation above is actually part of a prophecy he gave explaining the gifts of the Holy Ghost. In addition to this false prophecy, he also told them the Holy Ghost imparted special gifts to some people to know he (Smith) had been called of God, or they had been given enough faith to believe they could be healed, and the lies went on from there.
All of these things contradict what God told His children through Jeremiah.
Whom do you believe?
Besides all that, Mormons don’t believe Jesus was crucified for the sins of the world. Right in their own standard works is the doctrine Jesus paid for sins in the Garden of Gethsemane – D&C 19:18
