“The Journal of Discourses is not an official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is a compilation of sermons and other materials from the early years of the Church, which were transcribed and then published. It included some doctrinal instruction but also practical teaching, some of which is speculative in nature and some of which is only of historical interest.” Journal of Discourses
As a reminder, the quote above came from the official website of the LDS Church, and the problem with it is clearly seen in the preface of each volume for the JoD (Journal of Discourses). While each volume has a unique intro, we believe volume two contains one of the most horrifying statements we’ve read in all of Mormondom.
The purpose in gathering all the Church’s endorsements for the JoD isn’t to sensationalize, rather, it’s to inform. We pray the Christian will be able to utilize the info to aid while witnessing, and members of the Church will see the contradictions in the Church’s statements. Please know we’re praying for all involved!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle

Lingering questions… | 1830 – Today | ![]() Young, Kimball, Richards |
All Leaders of the Church who either delivered a speech, or quoted therefrom, are complicit in continuing the lies. | In light of all the foregoing information, is it reasonable for one to believe the Church never considered these things to be doctrine? That example is only the latest in a long line of swan songs by the Church in their attempt to divert attention away from truth.
The other excuse they’ve often used in the past is claiming the sermons were poorly transcribed making them unreliable. One only has to read contrary reports with glowing recommendations of the various editors’ meticulous, not to mention trustworthy, work in compiling the sermons in a cohesive manner. |
