Amos 3:7; “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.”
Hebrews 1:1-2; “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds.”

“The true Church of Jesus Christ has been restored and is on the earth today. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has always been led by living prophets and apostles, who receive constant guidance from heaven.
That divine pattern was also true anciently. We learn in the Bible: “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7).
God has again spoken in our time, through the Prophet Joseph Smith. He revealed through the Prophet Joseph the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fulness. …
In general conference twice a year, we are blessed with the opportunity to hear the word of the Lord for us from His servants. That is a privilege beyond price. …
Follow the Prophet …
Prophets and apostles speak for Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They teach us how to follow Jesus. Follow the paths to get to some of the things the prophet and apostles have asked us to do.” [emp. mine]
Their comment in the activity is very telling. Why have they made it so difficult to know Jesus? This is a good example of how confusing it was growing up in Utah Mormonism. They’ve made the mess and left it up to you to figure it out.
Questions/Observations we have are listed below. We’re wondering…why can’t they just tell the truth? Especially when teaching little kids…shame on them!
1.The mark of exclusivity is apparent in their self identification, ‘The true Church…’ They obviously don’t include themselves in the body of believers Jesus established.
2.If they don’t believe the Bible has been translated correctly, how do they know Amos 3:7 was translated correctly? Cherry-picking your way through the Bible only teaches children to mistrust God’s word.
3.We’ve noticed whenever the Church uses Amos 3:7, they purposefully leave out its fulfillment in Hebrews 1:1-2. Why is that? Why not teach children God can be trusted, and He fulfilled every promise He made?
4.It’s important to take note of the way they’ve accentuated Joe Smith’s title. He’s always referred to as, ‘the Prophet’, capitalizing the word ‘Prophet’. It’s no mistake they haven’t bestowed the same honor on any of their other prophets. This demarcation is a way to elevate Smith to godhood status.
5.Why have they declared that Mormon canon has been delivered in its fulness, when it’s actually a revolving, open canon? Smith’s main complaint against the Bible was that it’s a closed canon, yet he’s done the same thing by declaring he received ‘the gospel in its fulness’… This contradictory teaching is implemented to keep students confused.
6.At the end of their lesson they said, ‘we are blessed with the opportunity to hear the word of the Lord for us from His servants. That is a privilege beyond price…’ The word of the Lord is the Bible, not a teaching from man.
7.LDS prophets and apostles do not teach members how to follow Jesus Christ. They teach their kids, and adults, how to follow their prophet, not the God of the Bible. See Follow the Prophet for a small listing of the times members are told to follow their leaders.
The bottom line in this lesson is to remember that we as Christians, need to diligently pray for those who sit in the Mormon classrooms. Their lessons are filled with lies from beginning to end.
