The wholesale rejection of Jesus who is God. Zechariah 11:12-13d; “And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. 13 And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD.”
John 12:45; “And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.”

The Messiah would be God … The unity of brotherhood in the tribe was broken with their rejection of their Messiah. The flock would scatter, trials would ensue and hardships would surely be their future lot. Jesus, the shepherd was asking for His wages due and each man could decide on the amount they believed was good. God never forces Himself on anyone, and by asking for His wages, He gave them yet another chance. They rejected it.
Mormons too, have rejected God. They turned their backs on Him by accepting Joseph Smith’s view of God; an exalted man. They’ve rejected Jesus in lieu of believing in a created being, who’s the brother of Lucifer. They rejected the Holy Spirit in refusing to believe God indwells each believer, providing lifelong guidance, and the presence of God.

Articles of Faith, p 44; “We affirm that to deny the materiality of God’s person is to deny God; for a thing without parts has no whole, and an immaterial body cannot exist. fn The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints proclaims against the incomprehensible God, devoid of “body, parts, or passions,” as a thing impossible of existence, and asserts its belief in and allegiance to the true and living God of scripture and revelation.” – James Talmage
