Journal of Discourses 13:54; “The Lord permitted the enemies of the Kingdom of God to take away the life of His servant Joseph, as He did of His servants in ancient days. The blood of the testator was shed, and now the testament is in full force. Joseph had lifted up his voice in solemn warning to the inhabitants of the earth, and declared that God had spoken in these latter days. But his blood and that of other holy men and Saints was shed by wicked men…” – George Quayle Cannon, Salt Lake, December 5, 1869
Hebrews 9:16; “For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.”
We have a couple of questions about Mr. Cannon’s comments.
1.Who benefitted by Smith’s death?
2.Was Smith’s ‘testimony’ not in full force when he was living?
3.Who, if anyone, gained salvation when Smith was killed?
4.Why did Mr. Cannon use biblical phrases when he didn’t believe the Bible had been translated correctly?
If you’re LDS, please know that we pray for you daily dear one! Think about the importance the Church places on Joseph Smith, and check yourself to see if you’ve replaced Jesus with Joseph.
With Love in Christ;

Michelle,
I don’t know how you figure these writings out. Just reading that Journal of Discourses is mind boggling…Mr. Cannon writes it up in beautiful, flowery words but those of us who know the Truth aren’t swayed .
That’s the key. Those of us who know His word know the truth! John chapters 14-17. 🙂 Mormons like to steal the vernacular of the Bible to appear holy.
They fit the description of a wolf in sheep’s clothing to a ‘t’…
Redemption Through the Blood of Christ
Hebrews 9:11ff
These verses speak of Christ’s death redeeming us from sin and the New Covenant. There is no correlation between Christ’s death and Joseph Smith’s death as much as Cannon tries to make it sound.
He does try to replace Jesus with Joseph by using some of Hebrews 9:16 and adding the death of prophets, and others in Old Testament. A mortal man’s death does NOT equal God’s son, Jesus’ death.
How to know what to believe? Just rely on the Bible as it still is correct with over 5000 individual Greek manuscripts that contain all or part of the New Testament alone and more.

Thank you SO MUCH Miss Sue for sharing this awesome info!!! Just taking a few moments to reflect on what He’s done through His Spirit should bring us into a position of humble adoration and awe.
The historical aspect of what God has done is self-evident. No one can deny manuscripts are available and have been analyzed and verified as reliable, by those who are experts in Greek, Hebrew & Aramaic.
I pray these things will give my people something to ponder, and realize God has never deserted us!
