Waiting for World’s End: The Diaries of Wilford Woodruff, edited by Susan Staker, Signature Books, 1993, p. 305 “Again Presdet Young said Joseph the Prophet told me that the garden of Eden was in Jackson Co Missouri, & when Adam was driven out of the garden of Eden He went about 40 miles to the Place which we Named Adam Ondi Ahman, & there built an Altar of Stone & offered Sacrifize. That Altar remains to this day. I saw it as Adam left it as did many others, & through all the revolutions of the world that Altar had not been disturbed. Joseph also said that when the City of Enoch fled & was translated it was whare the gulf of Mexico now is. It left that gulf a body of water.” [sic] – Wilford Woodruff
2 Corinthians 11:14 “And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.”
Exactly where is this so-called altar in Missouri and when did God change the location for the Garden of Eden?
According to Genesis 2:10-14 the Garden of Eden is somewhere around the four rivers named in this passage of scripture; Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel, and Euphrates.
We know where the Euphrates River is because the name of it hasn’t changed. We also know where Ethiopia is located as well. From the maps I’ve read in my lifetime none of them tell me that Missouri is anywhere close! The best guess at where the Hiddekel was can be ascertained through the visions of Daniel, and it’s believed that river today is the Tigris River.
As for the reference to Enoch…we feel it pretty much speaks for itself, don’t you?
We’re not marveling at the insight of Smith, but we are marveling at how he could come up with such outlandish stories!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
“I am the Lord that maketh all things, that stretcheth forth the heavens alone, that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself. That frustrateth the token of the liars, and make diveners mad; that turneth wise men backward and maketh their knowledge foolish.” (Isaiah 44:24,25) Mr Woodruff has been shown to be a foolish men with the things that he has said.
The sad thing is, that church leaders have been very successful in covering up anything negative about the church or it’s leaders.
Members are instructed to avoid and reject anything they find on the internet that places the church in a bad light I guarantee you, that most Mormons have never read the above cited comments (Waiting for the World’s End) as written by Mr Woodruff in his diary.
With calumny, malediscence and ignorance all you can do is to lead people away from the true Christ. Shame on you, false Christians who dig a hole to your neighbor and set yourselves as models. Modern Pharisees you are.
Why don’t you concern yourselves with fighting real evils such as adultery, porngraphy, islamic violence against Christians, desctruction of morals.
Hello Anonymous,
Thank you for your comment.
Could you please specifically explain how this ministry is leading people away from the “true Christ”? This ministry believes in, and shares the true Christ (see John 1:1-4). Jesus is the eternal God creator of everything, He has always existed. He is not a created being, as the LDS church teaches.
As far as fighting the “real evils”…I assure you that there are many, many Christian ministries that specialize in those evils that you mentioned. But, everyone is unique and special. And God uses those unique and special talents in various ministries all over the world. I am still amazed after all these years to see how God uses people to fill the needs in the body of Christ for His glory. This particular ministry has a heart and a love for sharing truth in love with the LDS people. By the way…are you involved in a ministry that specializes in one of the real evils that you stated in your comment?
Also, we are not ignorant Pharisees. We don’t call LDS members names, we just want to share the truth. You see, it was Joesph Smith who said God told him not to join any of the church’s because they are all wrong and an abomination and the whore of earth. Sounds to me like it was Joesph Smith leading people away from Christ. Let me know your thoughts, and l look forward to your reply.

any argument is simply in vain. may God Himself pierce all of our hearts with the Holy Ghost that we all know Jesus the Lord and bow before him. I know for myself through the power of the Holy Ghost that Joseph Smith was visited by The Father and The Son. Only the Holy Ghost can tell us that, which mutes irrevocably all further argument and discussion. Nobody can remove this my testimony. in Christ’s name. best wishes
Challenging other people’s religions, or making people doubt their religion does not bring people to God, Christ, religion, or anything else. Data clearly shows otherwise. It’s like all the atheists who provide good evidence to challenge religion/Christianity.
The other commentor is right: Jesus spent almost all his time teaching his gospel. The Pharisees wasted all their time trying to disprove it and tear Jesus down.
If you want to bring people to Christ, tell them why they should believe your version our of the 1000’s out there. That is the correct way.
Hello Anonymous,
I sure wish I knew your name…mine is Melissa. And thanks for your comment. I hope you won’t be like the rest of the Anonymous’s that leave a comment and not reply back.
Some of your comment can be answered in the older reply I left the other Anonymous above.
I’m also curious to this data you mention, can to be more specific?
This ministry has been around for a while, and no one has ever challenged any of the truth claims. I read a lot of people claiming it’s all lies, and this site is here to tear down their faith. But never saying something like this is a lie and here are the resources to prove it.
Just so you know Michelle gets all of her info from LDS approved resources and the Bible. She gives the readers all the references so you can check it out.
Michelle is not a Pharisee trying to disprove Jesus. She is trying to share the biblical gospel as taught by Jesus. The LDS doctrines adds works to the gospel of Christ. Christians (the body of believers) believe in Christ’s FINISHED work on the Cross. Jesus Alone is sufficient. It’s not a prophet, not a church, not a temple, not a religion or works that save. It’s Jesus alone. Religions say DO, Jesus says DONE. So it’s not about religion, it’s about a relationship.
This is the Gospel, 1Corinthians 15: 1-4 KJV
Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, and wherein ye stand.; By which ye are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye believed in vain.
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and rose again the third day according to the scriptures.
So that’s the gospel. No works. Jesus fulfilled the law… hallelujah.
Please let me know your thoughts.

AMEN SISTER AMEN, AMEN, AMEN! 1 Cor 15:1-4 is a great synopsis of the gospel – which is the good news! 🙂
Indeed… it’s the only gospel that we received, and that we stand, and more importantly it’s the only gospel in which we are saved.
I also meant to point the Pharisees didn’t waste Jesus’s time, it seems to me the Pharisees of all people we’re the ones who needed the most to learn from Jesus himself.
