May 1 – Ps. 90:2; “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.”
Word study time! Everlasting is the key word today. Webster’s says that it means forever, or perpetual. Strong’s Concordance says perpetual, always, continual, without end. So it would stand to reason if something was without end it would keep on going, right? You’ll see in D&C what the Mormon god ordained only lasted 47 verses.
D&C 104:1, 47, 53; “…I give to you a commandment, concerning all the properties which belong to the order which I commanded to be organized and established, to be a united order and an everlasting order for the benefit of my church, and for the salvation of men until I come. 47 And now, a commandment I give unto you concerning Zion, that you shall no longer be bound as a united order to your brethren of Zion, only on this wise. 53 Therefore, you are dissolved as a united order with your brethren…”
I really hope that Mormonism can be more fully exposed for the fraud that it is. In my opinion, all it would take would be a two hour documentary film, shown on the History channel during prime time. A documentary film that discuses, in candid detail, the real Joseph Smith (adulterer, hustler, glass looker, treasure hunter, seducer of young girls and married women; the truth about how he really died; ( Shooting bullets at his jailers from a smuggled gun that somebody gave him); his prophecies that never came true (Read Deuteronomy 18:22); the truth about Parley Pratt and how he did not die as a martyr (as the church says), but rather was shot in the back by the husband of the wife he was running off with; about how Joseph had a bar in his house and drank wine and spirits on a fairly regular basis (IAW JS own Journal); or about how JS applied to join the Methodist Church in 1832, despite God supposedly telling him to not join any church
I would like for many of the quotes made by church leaders to be made public, to include statements made by church leaders in regard to people of color.
A two hour long film portraying Mormon history as it really was, not like the church portrays it. .Something like that would be devastating to the church. Apologists wouldn’t have the time to contradict the truth.
There have been a few documentaries. Although, one can get the truth from their Bibles, if they want. And of course the internet.
A few years ago HBO did a documentary called ” Going Clear” about Scientology. I think it had an impact on some. For those not willing to know the truth it might not have any impact. It has to be so hard to come to grips with the fact you’re in a cult.
