‘To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.’ Acts 26:18
The Bible verse above is our prayer for the Mormon people.
Today we’re looking at 3 quotes, and all have exhibited treacherous teachings. Each is a good summation of what they said in the talk they gave. To read their talks in full, click on corresponding links provided below.
Our main agenda with posting these things is to inform Mormons, and non-Mormons alike.
Please, pray for those who listened to these lies, and also for those who spread them. As we’ve been saying this week, if they’d turn to the Lord, they’d obviously turn from spreading lies about Him!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
Quote #1
General Conference, ‘Finding Joy in Sharing the Gospel,’ October 2019
Christina B. Franco, 2nd Counselor in the Primary General Presidency
“…The work of salvation includes missionary work, convert retention and temple and family history work. … Latter-day Saints know God’s plan — they accepted His plan of happiness, redemption and salvation before coming to earth. Members also know that Jesus Christ is central to God’s plan through His Atonement. Meanwhile, agency remains one of God’s greatest gifts — allowing His children to choose whether to follow Jesus Christ of Satan. Those “simple truths” can be shared with others.”
Two things with this quote.
1.The typo near the end of the quote is rather ironic isn’t it? We highlighted it for obvious reasons.
2.As an FYI, LDS Primary is for kids under the age of twelve. It’s tragic they’re taught such horrendous lies about the Lord at such a young age.
Pray with us that someone tells the children Jesus already finished the work of salvation!
Quote #2
General Conference, ‘The Joy of the Saints,’ October 2019
D. Todd Christofferson
“The joy set before us is the joy of assisting the Savior in His work of redemption. As the seed and children of Abraham, we participate in blessing all the families of the earth ‘with the blessings of the Gospel, which are the blessings of salvation, even of life eternal’ …Enos remembered his father speaking often of “the joy of the saints” (Enos 1:3).”
1.With all due respect Mr. Christofferson – why wasn’t Jesus’ spilt blood enough to redeem mankind?
2.Ask a Mormon how they’d define the word ‘Savior’.
3.As an FYI, Enos supposedly lived in the timeframe of BC 420. At that time there was no such thing as ‘saints’.
Quote #3
General Conference, ‘Holiness and the Plan of Happiness,’ October 2019
Henry B. Eyring
“Qualifying for the gift of holiness requires humility, meekness, and patience.”
We’ve found Mr. Eyring is quite fond of the word ‘qualifying’. The problem? He never uses the word correctly.
Why would someone need to qualify for a gift? Mr. Eyring has chosen to change the meaning of words to fit his agenda, not the Lord’s.
Oswald Chambers’ insight about holiness is far different than Eyring’s. Not only does he squash the theory of the LDS ‘Plan of Happiness’, he also pointed out that to be holy, a man must be right with God. Sadly, the Church rejected Him long ago in lieu of Joe Smith’s god.
“Continually restate to yourself what the purpose of your life is. The destined end of man is not happiness, nor health, but holiness. Nowadays we have far too many affinities, we are dissipated with them; right, good, noble affinities which will yet have their fulfilment, but in the meantime God has to atrophy them. The one thing that matters is whether a man will accept the God Who will make him holy. At all costs a man must be rightly related to God.”
Still work-righteousness continues…
Unfortunately so. And that’s what happens when you’re worshiping a false Christ. 🙁
Oh my, is that really a typo or did he actually say that? And they really should start referring to their jesus as part savior. Because he can only save after we do all we can do.
I was raised in the LDS church and left after my mother, whose ancestors settled Utah, left the church. I was the last in my immediate family to leave. Had you asked me to define “Saviour” I’d have told you that Christ was my saviour because he died for my sins. You can claim that I was contradicting my faith, but I embraced the Bible as truth. It is only for God to claim knowledge of the beliefs that are in my, or anyone else’s, heart and mind and your blanket generalization is ignorant and does nothing to serve your purpose.
The Bible is God’s way of speaking to humankind. Everything God wants us to know, is in the Bible. The BOM has been proven time and time again to be false. I thank God for sites like this one, that teaches true Gospel messages.Lots of doubtful Mormons can navigate to sites like this one and learn things about the will of God that they were never taught in the LDS community
