December 30 – Psalm 31:13 “For I have heard the slander of many: Fear was on every side: While they took counsel together against me, They devised to take away my life.”

King David wrote Psalm 31:13 while in the throes of many troubles. His life was a constant briefing of the latest threats against his life, and being made aware of those who had it out for him. The dear king’s cry to God was a foreshadowing of Jesus’ life, which was fulfilled in Matthew 27:1 “When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death.”
Did you know there are 72 prophecies about Jesus in the Psalms? You can find all of them at WICWiki, (What is Christianity Wiki). Perhaps you can find one or two that piques your interest, and share why you like this with a Mormon you know! This will add another reason why they can trust the Bible, which goes to disprove the theory it’s unreliable, or that the only safe way to know God’s will is by means of their prophets.

Quotes on the importance of prophets by LDS General Authorities –
Bruce McConkie – No Prophets, No Salvation – The Promised Messiah, p. 33; “Where there are prophets, salvation is available; and where there are no prophets, there is no hope of salvation. It is no wonder that Lucifer hates prophets and seeks their destruction.”
Carol F. McConkie – Prophets Ordained with Power to Save – General Conference, ‘Live According to the Words of the Prophets,’ October 2014 “Our Father in Heaven loves all of His children and desires that they know and understand His plan of happiness. Therefore, He calls prophets, those who have been ordained with power and authority to act in God’s name for the salvation of His children…”
“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am i trying to please people? if I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:10)
The entire focus of Mormons is to follow the words of their prophets and to do what the prophets instruct them to do. Even Sunday School classes and Elders/ Relief Society meetings, are dedicated to studying the lives of Mormon prophets. More time is spent learning about these Mormon prophets than is spent studying the Words of Christ
I honestly believe that many of these Mormon prophets have known, in their hearts, that they were not special men (Prophets) in the eyes of God. They continue the charade so as not to hurt the faith of the faithful/
