I could sum up my everyday feelings as a member of the LDS Church by saying it felt like I was always walking on eggshells. Depending on which leader was speaking, or lesson taught, that scenario was a common occurrence.
Tragically, the truth about our loving God is overshadowed by years of lies. It’s been well noted by many, tactics of the Church have produced passive-aggressive people, and the results are unsettling for outsiders, and members alike.
Truth —
The Lord loves us more than we could ever imagine! He loves us no matter what we’ve done, or where we’ve been. This isn’t to say that there aren’t consequences for our behavior, (Think the Apostle Paul, and King David.), but make no mistake beloved, God will never stop loving us!
1 John 4:8-10 “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
This is in sharp contrast to the ever present contradictions of the Church. Please, be sure to pray for the Mormon people, and share the following examples of the Church’s behavior with the Mormon you know!
As an FYI, we found dozens of contradictions in this topic, but for the sake of time, and space, have limited our list to just a few examples.
God’s Love
Conditional
Ensign, ‘Divine Love,’ Feb. 2003, p. 20 “While divine love can be called perfect, infinite, enduring, and universal, it cannot correctly be characterized as unconditional. The word does not appear in the scriptures…many verses affirm that the higher levels of love the Father and the Son feel for each of us…are conditional.” — Russell M. Nelson
Doctrine and Covenants 95:12 “If you keep not my commandments, the love of the Father shall not continue with you, therefore you shall walk in darkness.”
Unconditional
First Presidency Message: “With an Eye Single to His Glory,” Ensign, Dec. 1971 “To love completely with a wholeness even as Christ loved, to manifest a mature and unconditional love in all human relations, would minimize many fears.” — First Presidency, Elder Ronald E. Poelman, and Apostle Marvin J. Ashton
Ensign, ‘Love Unconditional,’ December 1971 “We cannot, my dear brethren, condition our love by a beard or beads or habits or strange viewpoints. There have to be standards and they must be enforced, but our love must be unconditional.” — Marion Hanks
With Love in Christ;
