John 14:16 “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever”.
If you ask for an opinion on the state of affairs in America right now, you’re sure to get a different answer for each one.
For the Christian’s daily life, the answer probably mirrors the same as it would have been a month ago.
Our daily life as a believer begins and ends, with Christ Jesus, and Him crucified. Our routines may have changed a bit, but the premise is the same. We wake, pray, and the big headline is what our Lord has to say in the book we’re studying in His word. For me right now, it’s Philippians.
While my church service is held virtually as well, the sermons of my pastor are filled with the hope and strong biblical teaching just as they were before COVID-19 was a topic at the dinner table.
Even for those who don’t have the technology for virtual sermons, Christians have His word. Just as they did before this small bump in the road began.
Sadly, the Church’s announcement was bereft of the certainty Jesus gives us each and every day. He promised to send us His Comforter who’d be with us forever. He’s done that.
He promised to never leave, nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5). He’s done that!
He promised that He’s the same yesterday, today and tomorrow (Heb. 13:8), and He’s done that too!
Lastly beloved, just ‘doing our best’ falls way short of God standards just as it always has, thus the need of a Savior!
I realize they need to announce changes to the way meetings are held, but one has to ask…where is the hope we have in Jesus?
With Love in Christ;
