Be Thou My Vision
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my lightBe Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one…
This year the LDS Church has chosen to place its focus on many things, one of which is Joseph Smith’s First Vision. Their celebrations of the ‘bicentennial’ of Smith’s trek in the woods outside Palmyra, NY have been filled with deliberate lies leading members down paths away from our sweet Jesus.
While gathering notes for today’s post on their many talks about this, my computer decided to play the hymn ‘Be Thou My Vision’. I took it as a reminder of where our focus should be!
Please note the numbering system we’ve used here is purely ours, and doesn’t reflect which order their talks were given.
#1 Seven Lies of Primary President at General Conference
The first talk we’re looking at comes from the LDS Primary President, Joy D. Jones. Ms. Jones, along with their prophet Russell Nelson, told a group of very young children our life’s practice of becoming like the Savior is hard and never ends. She went on to say that God rewards our efforts of trying, and how we could take a lesson from Joe Smith’s effort of trying to find God.
Here in part is what she said —
The First Vision gives us direction in our unique, continuing roles. As women of faith, we can draw principles of truth from the Prophet Joseph’s experiences that provide insights for receiving our own revelation. For example:
We labor under difficulties.
We turn to the scriptures to receive wisdom to act.
We demonstrate our faith and trust in God.
We exert our power to plead with God to help us thwart the adversary’s influence.
We offer up the desires of our hearts to God.
We focus on His light guiding our life choices and resting upon us when we turn to Him.
We realize He knows each of us by name and has individual roles for us to fulfill.
In addition, Joseph Smith restored the knowledge that we have divine potential and eternal worth. Because of that relationship with our Heavenly Father, I believe He expects us to receive revelation from Him.
1.There’s no truth in any of Joe Smith’s vision.
2.Joe Smith didn’t turn to scripture, he rejected it!
3.Membership in the Mormon faith demonstrates you’ve rejected Jesus.
4.Our power is found in God alone who is a shield about us – Ps. 3:3.
5.Man’s heart is inherently evil – why would we want to offer our desires to God? Jer. 17:9
6.The only guidance you’ll get from the Church is a false one. If you’re not a true believer in the Jesus of the Bible, His Spirit doesn’t reside inside you. Any guidance outside that parameter is a false one beloved!
7.We have no divine potential! Believing you can become a god/goddess is from Satan, not God!

#2 Hinge Point of Church Hangs on Lies
Henry Eyring’s talk was an interesting one as he seemed to be all over the board in topics. At one point it sounded as if he had begrudgingly accepted his task of giving this talk, while publicly repenting of his ‘role’ in the Church. It sounds as if things behind the scene aren’t so rosy.
Like the talk from Ms. Jones, he was primarily focused on Joe Smith, and not the Lord Christ Jesus. The shameful part about this is the opportunity they had on a worldwide stage to proclaim truth. Rather than preach Christ Jesus and Him crucified, they extolled the lies of Smith who practiced witchcraft out in the woods of Palmyra.
Our question for Mr. Eyring is this –
Why is this conference a hinge point in the history of the church?
What’s on the horizon next week, or next year, for the Church? Are they going to denounce everything, and repent? If not, then it’s just more of the same propaganda they’ve taught for 200 years.
Most regrettably, people like my mother are sucked into the lies year after year. Joe Smith praying in the woods seeking forgiveness and telling God he needed to find the ‘true church’ is totally contradictory!
Here’s part of Mr. Eyring’s speech –
“President Nelson has designated this year as “a bicentennial period commemorating 200 years since God the Father and His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Joseph Smith in a vision.” President Nelson invited us to make a personal plan to prepare ourselves for this historic conference, which commemoration he said would be “a hinge point in the history of the Church, and your part is vital.”
Joseph Smith is an example of how to grow in such spiritual power. He showed us that the prayer of faith is the key to revelation from God. He prayed in faith, believing that God the Father would answer his prayer. He prayed in faith, believing that only through Jesus Christ could he be freed from the guilt he felt for his sins. And he prayed in faith, believing that he needed to find the true Church of Jesus Christ to gain that forgiveness.”
To read all of his talk, see Prayers of Faith.
We’ll look at other talks throughout the week, but in the meantime be sure to pray Mormons will tire of the lies and turn to the real Jesus of the Bible!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
As the World’s Only Living Prophet, how come Presdient Trump hasn’t called on old Presient Nelson for counsel? I know Trump is a believer, a man of faith, how come he hasn’t reached out to God’s only living representative in the world today for advice? How come other world leaders are not readcng out to God’s special man? Nelson’s job is to Go to the Lost Sheep, not the Lost Sheep having to find their way to him. A prophet is always Pro Active..
Think about it, this COVID19, is the Mormon Church”s perfect opportunity to show off God’s Only Living Prophet and what messages God has prepared for him to deliver.
This would be a perfect time for people to demand that the Mormon church either put up or shut up, with its claim of having the only true prophet of God on the earth today
