April 24 — Atonement & Repentance. Hebrews 8:12 “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”
_____
Share with your Mormon loved ones the difference between God forgiving, and remembering our sins no more, to what Mr. Packer said at General Conference in 10/2013. The Lord can and will forgive if we ask, but what if someone died due to an accident you caused? How are the effects of that erased, even if you repent?

Daily Messages, Atonement, Priesthood, & Covenants – “Just as chalk can be removed from a blackboard, with sincere repentance the effects of our transgression can be erased through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. That promise applies in every case.” — Boyd K. Packer, “The Key to Spiritual Protection”
“But God demonstrated His love for us in this: While we were yet sinners, Chris died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him?(Romans 5:8,9)
One of the best scriptures about the Atonement is in Hebrews 10″1-10. This explaines how faith in Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross and the blood he shed for the remission of our sins, is all that is really needed to have eternal life
. Temple recommends, ordinances, endowment ceremonies, secret handshakes and signs, tithing, calls, home teaching etc, are not going to do you any favors in the eyes of God.. Why? Because, in participating in these church ordinances, you are saying that Jesus death and Sacrifice on the Cross were not enough. More is needed to pacify God.
Well said old Sarge… It’s like the cat that drops a dead mouse at your feet. The cat thinks this will please you…but it’s kinda gross to us. That’s how God see our dead works.
