April 8 – God’s Gift. Acts 8:14-17 “Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.”

It’s rather ironic the Church would bless its members with the gift of the Holy Ghost. They don’t believe He can be in more than one place at a time. In the book Articles of Faith, p. 160 it says; “Plainly, such expressions as being filled with the Holy Ghost, and His falling upon person, have reference to the powers and influences that emanate from God, and which are characteristic of Him; for the Holy Ghost may in this way operate simultaneously upon many persons even though they be widely separated, whereas the actual person of the Holy Ghost cannot be in more than one place at a time”.

Point 8. “The true church must bestow the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. Acts 8:14-17.”
In John 16:7-15, Jesus pretty much describes the Holy Ghost and why it is necessary for Him to be crucified in order for us to receive the Holy Ghost. Jesus describes the purpose of receiving the Holy Ghost, in such a way as to reveal that the HG works on all believers all the time and is everywhere, at the same time. The Holy Ghost is simply Jeus being with us always, even though he has ascended to His Father in Heaven.
It is hard to believe that Mormons have the Bible, are free to read the Bible any time. The truths of Jesus Christ and God are plainly depicted in the Bible. Yet, the truths of the Word of the Bible sem hidden to them.
:”The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the spirit of God,but considers them foolishness (Art#8) and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the spirit. Who has known the mind of the Lord, so as to instruct him? (1 Corinthians 2:14-16)
Mormons do not have the “True” Spirit of God” in their lives. Because of this, the Words of the Bible are black and white to them. Once they receive the Holy Ghost in their lives, the Words of God (Bible) became colorful, alive and meaningful.
