Acts 8:14-17 “Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.”

Parley Pratt2Key to the Science of Theology, pp. 95-96; “He is an intelligent being, in the image of God, possessing every organ, attribute, sense, sympathy, affection that is possessed by God Himself.
But these are possessed by man, in his rudimental state, in a subordinate sense of the word. Or, in other words, these attributes are in embryo, and are to be gradually developed.

They resemble a bud, a germ, which gradually develops into a bloom and then, by progress, produces the mature fruit after its own kind.  The Gift of the Holy Ghost adapts itself to all these organs or attributes.
