Journal of Discourses 19:101 “…while the Elders and people of Israel labored diligently to carry out his [Joseph Smith’s] teachings and execute his plans and designs, he stepped behind the vail almost as suddenly and unexpectedly, to the people, as did Jesus when he was crucified. I repeat, it was almost as sudden and unexpected to the vast body of this people as the crucifixion of Jesus was to his disciples, who were looking for him to be placed upon the throne of his father David, to rule and reign over the House of Israel.” — Erastus Snow, Salt Lake City, September 9, 1877
Isaiah 46:5 “To whom will ye liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?”
Apparently some in the LDS Church didn’t give a second thought to comparing Joseph to the Lord Jesus.
Mr. Snow either didn’t care, or had never read what God had to say in Isaiah. The arrogance of his statement speaks for itself, and earned a place in our Worst of the Worst Mormon Quotes.
While it’s unlikely the average Mormon would know what Mr. Snow said, the spirit of it lives on today. We’ve seen this in their endless celebration of commemorating the 200th anniversary of Joseph Smith’s jaunt out in the woods.
Our look at this today is a simple reminder to pray for the Mormon people to question the behavior of their leaders!

Jim Jones and David Koresh made pretty quick exits as well.

Wrong! Smith expected it, which is why he had a gun to shoot back with.
Oh the lies of Mormonism are never-ending.
Amen brother, amen!!!
