April 29 — Replacing My Scant Offering With Messiah’s Promise. Psalm 40:6-8a “Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. 7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, 8 I delight to do thy will…”
Hebrews 10:10-13 “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.”

Even after I accepted Jesus as my Savior, I was still reticent about ‘letting’ Him do everything. Somehow, the Lord finally got through to me when I read Hebrews 10:11. Repeatedly doing the same things over and over, got me nowhere fast. Praise God for His patience with me!
Another thing the Lord opened my eyes to was fulfilled scripture. There are 333 prophecies in the OT about Jesus, and He fulfilled each one of them! The odds of me, Joseph Smith, or anyone else for that matter, doing just one of the things goes beyond any human capabilities. Be sure to share this with a Mormon you know!

2 Nephi 25:23 “For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.”
So how is everyone doing with 2 Nephi 25:23??? Are you doing ALL you can do? And when exactly do you know when you did all you can do?
According to Spencer W. Kimball in his book ‘Miracle of Forgiveness’ the title page of 164 says ‘Trying is NOT Sufficient’.
Grace is a gift. And if we have to earn any part of it it’s no longer a gift. Your paycheck isn’t a gift…you worked for it. No one, not even Adam and Eve could keep the law. Neither could Joseph Smith or Nelson. Which is why we need a Savior. Jesus came to fulfill the law on our behalf, because we can’t. And that is why there is no need for the Temple (one). The main purpose of the Temple was to offer a sacrifice in substitute for our sins. Jesus was the perfect and FINAL sacrifice… No more need for the Temple. He did it ALL. it’s not after ALL you can do. If you can do it then you don’t need a Savior.
