May 3 — Pondering Lies Instead of Truth. Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
_____
A talk given by Ulisses Soares at a recent General Conference focused on the greatness of the Book of Mormon, and how you can know of its truth by praying about it. A reference he used in his talk is listed below.
As Christians we can know with full assurance this man’s message was wrong on numerous levels.
1.Jesus promised us His word will never go away, hence, we don’t need ‘another gospel’.
2.The Book of Mormon contradicts the Bible throughout its text.
3.The BoM is filled with numerous contradictions, anachronisms, and lies.
Furthermore, the Bible tells us man’s heart is deceitful (Jer. 17:9), so how can we trust the BoM based on what Mr. Soares said? His litmus test for truth is nothing but a ruse drawing people away from Jesus, and into the snares of evil teachings.

Book of Mormon Intro “We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost. (See Moroni 10:3–5.)”
Wait…so is their god eternal? I thought Joseph Smith refuted the idea, and took away the veil so that we may see. 😔
Ever notice during General Conference, how speakers are always quoting the words of the church president or the words of one of the 15 “anointed” General Authorites? For examle” Presiden Nelson has taught us; President Monson instructed us to….; I will now quote from President Hinkley. Jeffrey R Holland reminded us.. So on and so on
Bottom line, Mormons are taught that the words spoken by these men are to be considered “Scripture”. During Mormon General Conference, the words of church presidents and their General Authorites are cited more often than Biblical verse.
Question for the world. Where is the “Worlds Only Living Prophe”t right now? What is he saying? What advice is he giving the people of the world? Has he taken measures to ensure that every citizen of planet Earth has had the opportunity to hear him?
Mormons are fond of reminding eople that they are welcome to listen to listen to President Nelson speak at any time; they can read the words he has spoken. All they have to to is “reach out’ to everybody.
In the Bible, God’s prophets were active. They didn’t wait for people to come to them. When a sheep gets seprated from herd, the shepherd goes out and finds that sheep; he doesnt wait for the sheep to wondering back on his own.
I honestly hope that some Mormons consider the actions or lack of actions on the part of their Prophet as seomething to ponder.
In my opinion, we have the Bible. Do we really need a prophet?
