1 Corinthians 15:22 “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive”.
Ensign, ‘Adam’s Role in Bringing Us Mortality’, January 2006 “Adam came here to bring mortality upon the earth…Adam did only what he had to do. He partook of that fruit for one good reason, and that was to open the door to bring you and me and everyone else into this world… One of these days, if I ever get to where I can speak to Mother Eve, I want to thank her for tempting Adam to partake of the fruit.” — Joseph Fielding Smith [Taken from an October 1967 general conference address.]
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.
There have been a few times in life when I’ve thought about what I’d say to Adam and Eve, but honestly, the thought of thanking Eve for her sin, has never crossed my mind. Not once.
How sad it must be for sweet Jesus when He hears things like the teaching from Mr. Smith. The Lord’s plan was never for mankind to reject His commandments. Did He know it would happen? Absolutely! Did He have a ‘back-up plan’? No, of course not! Because God is Sovereign, He rightly knew what would happen.
Smith’s comment has to be one of the worst things I’ve read coming out of Mormonism. Be watching for it in our next installment of ‘Worst of the Worst’.
On the flipside of that is one of the best sermons I’ve ever read by John Piper! He showed how the Glory of God is seen through our lives in His plan for us.
Shame on Smith, and others, who continue the lies of Satan. Share with the Mormon you know why God never intended for man to fall, but provided Jesus because of His omniscience!
With Love in Christ;
Michelle
The Bible foretold the coming of false prophets, such as Joe Smith Joseph F Smith, Russel Nelson and false teachers, such as members of the 70. The Bible speaks of the consequences of following their deceptive ways. If people had read their Bibles and prayed like the scriptures have told us to pray, Joseph Smith’s teachings would have fallen on deaf ears and the Mormon church would never have come into being.
God warned us of the consequence of not reading our Bibles.
“MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED FROM A LACK OF KNOWLEDGE: BECAUSE THOU HAST REJECTED KNOWLEDGE (My Word), I WILL ALSO REJECT THEE),, THAT THOU SHALT BE NO PRIEST TO ME; SEEING THOU HAST FORGOTTEN THE LAW OF THY GOD, I WILL ALSO FORGET THY CHILDREN.” (Hosea 4:6)
The begining of Genesis illustrates we are born with a sinful nature, which started with Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Why are we supposed to be thankful for someone’s disobedience?
