November 30 – Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

I had never heard this of this verse in the 30 years I was a Mormon. It wasn’t until I had been saved when a dear Christian friend of mine showed me this verse and would remind me of it time and again during the first few years of my walk with the Lord. I don’t know of any true Christian who gets inspiration from anyone other than the Lord Jesus. The Mormon writings today are another example of what they really think of the body of Christ.
Compare their writings with what I just learned about from our pastor’s sermon I listened to this morning, The topic was on one of the sweetest verses in the Bible.
Jesus told the grieving mother at Nain not to cry – Luke 7:13 “And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.” He told her this just before He resurrected her son.
We have to ask, how something like this is inspired by the devil? Because the Church won’t share things like this with their people, be sure you do!

“What is it that inspires professors of Christianity generally with a hope of salvation? It is that smooth, sophisticated influence of the devil, by which he deceives the whole world.” Joseph Smith, History of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7 vols., introduction and notes by B. H. Roberts, 5:218 – 219.
