January 5 – LDS Rejection of All Things Created by Jesus. Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

Do you remember the first time you read this scripture? A Christian’s reaction to this verse is one of awe. When we think of the implications it brings into our lives, we’re filled with gratitude, and a huge sense of relief knowing God, the Creator of All Things, is caring enough to worry about us, and do, what we cannot.
As you can see, Mormons are in open rebellion against Him, and openly reject everything He’s declared. The outright hatred for Him is nothing short of astonishing.

Mormon Doctrine, p. 58 “Christ is not the Author of Salvation in the sense that he created the plan of salvation, nor in the sense that he supposedly presented a plan of his own in the councils in heaven, which plan the Father supposedly adopted in preference to a less desirable one formulated by Lucifer. Rather the Father is the Author of the plan of salvation, a plan which began to operate long before Christ was ever chosen to be the Redeemer.” [emp. added]
Update: When we posted this on January 5, 2021, we didn’t realize the link for Mormon Doctrine didn’t work, so we’ve updated it with the link above. Thanks go out to one of our readers for the heads up!
“A crucial question to ask it what is the church currently teaching and affirming, in official venues and in a collective way,” Haws said. Your post brought me to a site about Mormon Doctrine. The above sentence jumped off the page……CURRENTLY TEACHING?? God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He doesn’t change truth. Sady, SMH. Praying daily for my lost family and all who still follow Joseph’s lies (or the current ones.)
Thanks for posting about this Sandra. It’s indeed heartbreaking for not only the members, but those who know the truth as well. Sigh… I also saw the link in the article didn’t work so that’s been fixed. If you hadn’t commented, I wouldn’t have noticed it! The Lord does indeed work in mysterious ways! 🙂 In addition to your findings about comments made by their leaders, I also found another comment on the same topic made by Dallin Oaks we’ll be looking at. Oh what a tangled web they weave…
Tangled web, indeed!
