October 22 –– Blood of Jesus, v. Joseph’s Polygamy. Jeremiah 31:31 “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah”.
Matthew 26:28 “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”

The Messiah would be the new covenant… We see in God’s perfect word how He fulfilled scripture which shows we can trust Him completely. What a comfort this is to everyone who believes!
Tragically, Mormons believe the new covenant is polygamy.
How could an adulterous sexual relationship outside a monogamous marriage take the place of Jesus’ spilt blood on the cross for us?
Ask a Mormon for their opinion on this and explain the meaning of the word ‘everlasting’.

D&C 132:4 “For behold, I reveal unto you a new and an everlasting covenant; and if ye abide not that covenant, then are ye damned; for no one can reject this covenant and be permitted to enter into my glory.” – Joseph Smith, July 12, 1843
One of my favorite things to ask Mormons; D&C 132 says it’s an everlasting command and yet they longer practice – how come? The excuses I receive can get to be quite amusing.
Can you explain this article a little more? I may want to use this as a witnessing tool to my family and I’m a bit confused. How do Mormons go from a new covenant to polygamy?
Anonymous,
Well, when you read the entire D&C 132 there is the teaching that one must be a polygamist to reach exaltation, i.e. become a god.
