December 24 – A Child Born. Isaiah 9:6; “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
_____
The fulfillment of Isaiah 9:6 is found in Luke 1:31; “And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.”
This is so cool!
From just this one biblical verse, a Christian can prove the Jesus of the Mormon Church is not the Jesus of the Bible. While the list of examples is far too long to list here, suffice it to say, there are numerous quotes made by LDS authorities who have gone to great lengths in their denouncement of Luke 1:31. We’ve listed a few of those things, but please, remember this isn’t here to use as a tool for mocking the Mormon people. Rather, we’ve listed this as a tool to inform both the Christian, and Mormon.

D&C 130:3; “John 14:23—The appearing of the Father and the Son, in that verse, is a personal appearance; and the idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man’s heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false.”

I read D&c 130 a week or so ago and all I could think was that they’re calling Jesus a liar. If their scripture flat out contradicts what Jesus said, how do they know what to believe. Then Jesus wasn’t the perfect spotless lamb, and couldn’t take on our sins on the cross. How do they justify this verse when teaching to their church? Jesus told us that the Holy Spirit will come to dwell in us.
Tragically, they’ve chosen Joseph over Jesus. Their traditions are easier to deal with than self-inventory. Of course anything to avoid the Lord’s perfect word is too much effort and convicting – Heb. 4:12.
