General Conference, ‘Hold Up Your Light’, October 2021 “Sharing the gospel can bring joy, hope, access to God’s power, protection from temptation and healing into one’s life. All of these — and more (including forgiveness of sins) — distill upon us from heaven as we share the gospel.” — Marcus B. Nash
Jeremiah 31:31-33 “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
Revelation 1:5 “…Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.”
We’ve pulled a small excerpt from Mr. Nash’s talk at General Conference, but our example is enough to show the futility of his words.
While sharing the gospel can bring hope they’re not sharing the true gospel, nor has he told the truth.
Sharing the biblical gospel doesn’t cleanse us from sin – only the blood of Jesus can do this. Furthermore, His blood can only cleanse us if we accept Him as the Lamb of God who did so on Calvary’s cross.
Another problem in this man’s talk is when he said the gospel provides protection from temptation. Oh dear…
The Holy Spirit residing inside the believer is the One that does this. Our flapping jaws could never do the supernatural work of God’s Spirit! We can become a new creature in Him only if we’re following the true Jesus of the Bible. 2 Cor. 5:17
We’ve only listed a small excerpt of this talk, but we’ll be looking at more of it another time.
For now, beloved, please pray for those who listened to this guy and for Jesus to intervene!
With Love in Christ —
Michelle
