As an FYI, the GC talk we’re looking at today was delivered in October 2021 by Quentin Cook.

General Conference, ‘Personal Peace in Challenging Times,’ October 2021 “I was recently assigned to dedicate a portion of historic Nauvoo. As part of the assignment, I was able to visit Liberty Jail in Missouri. As I viewed the jail, I contemplated the events that make it such a significant part of Church history. The lives of the Saints were threatened as the result of an extermination order issued by the governor of Missouri. In addition, the Prophet Joseph and a few choice associates had been unjustly imprisoned in Liberty Jail. One of the reasons for the violent opposition to our members was most of them were opposed to slavery.” — Quentin L. Cook

The October 2021 General Conference proved itself to be filled with the usual lies of Mormonism. What struck me this time around was who said what to whom. Today we’re looking at the talk given by Bonnie Cordon who is the General Young Women President.

No doubt it’s always tragic when a large corporation masking itself as a safe Christian organization outright lies to the world. Sadder still is when their target audience consists of the most vulnerable – meaning LDS young people.

General Conference, ‘Deepening Our Conversion to Jesus Christ’, October 2021 “Studying the scriptures is an important part of understanding the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ. …Through this understanding, individuals build trust in His promises made in the scriptures, as well as in the promises and blessings of modern prophets. …

In studying the gospel, we are seeking to become a ‘new creature’ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Teaching from the scriptures transforms people. The power of the Holy Ghost is manifest through them to positively change lives.

The Holy Ghost guides us toward truth and testifies to us of the truth…We should seek the companionship of the Holy Ghost. …

We must seek everything that invites the influence of the Spirit and reject anything that deviates from this influence.” — Arnulfo Valenzuela, General Authority Seventy (more…)

These are some things of the soul: Love God the Father and Jesus Christ, the Savior. Love neighbors. Love one’s self. Keep the commandments. Always be temple worthy. Be joyful and cheerful. Follow God’s living prophet.” — Ronald Rasband (more…)

General Conference, ‘The Greatest Possession, October 2021 “For those who love God enough to try to be faithful to Him, He will give the ability, capacity, will and way to love one’s neighbors and themselves. I pray we will succeed where that rich young man failed, that we will take up the cross of Christ however demanding it may be regardless of the issue and regardless of the cost.” — Jeffrey R. Holland

General Conference, ‘The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation’, October 2021 “The temple lies at the center of strengthening faith and spiritual fortitude because everything taught in the temple increases understanding of Jesus Christ. …

Ponder these three truths: 1. The Restoration is a process, not an event, and will continue until the Lord comes again. 2. The ultimate objective of the gathering of Israel is to bring the blessings of the temple to God’s faithful children. 3. As we seek how to accomplish that objective more effectively, the Lord reveals more insights. The ongoing Restoration needs ongoing revelation.” — Russell Nelson [emp. added] (more…)
