March 20 – Hosanna – Oh Save Us! John 11:55-57, 12:1, 12-15 “And the Jews’ Passover was nigh at hand: and many went out of the country up to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves. 56 Then sought they for Jesus, and spake among themselves, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast? 57 Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment, that, if any man knew where he were, he should shew it, that they might take him.”
12:1 “Then Jesus six days before the Passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. 12 On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, 13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. 14 And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, 15 Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.”

Are you on your way to Jerusalem with the Lord? As He took His final walk from Bethany to the beloved Sion, where would you choose to be and why? The vast majority of Mormons don’t know about Palm Sunday. Of course you’ll meet and hear of those who do, but by and large, it’s a rare commodity.
I happened to get saved on Palm Sunday 1993 and to say I was shocked when I learned what Palm Sunday meant would be an understatement.
Explain to a Mormon today (yes, today!) about the significance of Palm Sunday and what it means to you personally.
Although Palm Sunday is still a few weeks away the insight you can share with a Mormon before that time can help out greatly!

Mormon Doctrine, p. 553 “…it is not the common practice to single out Palm Sunday for any special commemorative worship. Rather the Latter-day Saints memorialize the transcendent events of their era, such things as the coming of John the Baptist, the restoration of the Melchizedek Priesthood, the conferral of the sealing keys by Elijah, and the organization of the Church again on earth.” – Bruce R. McConkie
