Isaiah 42:6-7 “I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles; 7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.”
Matthew 26:28 “For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”

Without a doubt, there’s nothing more restful in life than knowing God provided salvation for us through His Son. The passages in Isaiah, and Matthew, is just one example showing how God kept His promise.
Tragically, this has been rejected in Mormonism. The LDS Church has a laundry list of must-dos for salvation. One of those is found in Joe Smith’s declaration the ‘new and everlasting covenant’ is polygamy – D&C 132:4, 32.
Since they don’t practice this anymore, we have to ask why it’s still part of their canon.
Sadder still are talks like the one below, reminding members Joseph Smith’s blood was necessary for salvation.
Give the awesome gift of sharing demonstrative evidence about the works of God, and the precious gift of His Son! We’re receiving numerous e-mails and calls from people who are sharing their stories of leaving Mormonism, and gaining salvation through Christ! PTL, halleluiah!!! Their stories are a reminder to witness!!!

Smith’s New Covenant Blood — Ensign, ‘Joseph Smith Among the Prophets,’ June 1994 “As suggested earlier, the life of Joseph Smith was in some degree patterned after that of his Master, Jesus Christ. That pattern holds true even when extended to its tragic conclusion. Like his Master, Joseph Smith also shed his blood in order that the final testament, the reestablishment of the new covenant, might be in full effect.” – Robert L. Millet
