February 5 — Mormons Won’t Admit They’re Sinners. Ecclesiastes 7:20 “For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.”

One of the biggest shocks for me when leaving Mormonism was discovering I had to admit I’m a sinner. It was humbling experience! Unfortunately, that phrase isn’t part of the vernacular of the average Mormon.
Share with the Mormon you know that we’re all sinners, and because of this, God provided a Redeemer to cleanse us from that wretched state!

“The present fallen status of mankind, as expressed in our mortal condition, was inaugurated by Adam and Eve; but divine justice forbids that we be accounted sinners solely because our parents transgressed.” – James E. Talmage, Articles of Faith, p. 475.

I also thought I had been valiant in the preexistance. I now know that when I was born into this sinful world. I was covered with that sin. But take heart, Jesus has overcome the world. By His stripes we are healed. Hallelujah.
AMEN sister!
Unfortunately, it’s happening in many so-called Christian churches. Don’t want to offend anyone…”you do you”, and “live your best life”(whatever all that means). But at the end of the day we need to face the fact we’re sinners in need of a Savior.
Well said!
Went to an end of life celebration a few yrs back where the minister said there’s no such thing as the devil.
Yikes!
Ok weird! I just watched the Lifetime movie “Gwen Shamblin: Starving for Salvation”. It’s a true story about a woman who started a Christian weight loss program in the late 90’s, she developed quite a following, and decided to start her own church called Remnant fellowship Church, because she didn’t like her pastor preaching about sinning and all fall short, and need a Savior. Simply because she felt people wouldn’t take “Weight Down” program seriously. That relying on Jesus would make it too easy to fail. She also denounced the Trinity.
The bigger her ego got, the bigger her hair got. She was killed in a plane crash in 2021. And she still has followers. If you don’t want to watch the LT movie there is a really good documentary called ” The Way Down: God, Greed and the cult of Gwen Shamblin”. Very interesting.
That’s really sad. So many fall for the most inane things. Like the saying goes…if you don’t stand for something you’ll fall for anything. Ugh.
