“You are your rescuer, You came from Heaven”???
So if we came from Heaven just like our elder brother Jesus, and we are our rescuer, then what’s the point of Jesus? This is a perfect example of the LDS church still teaching in 2025 we are (g)ods in embryo. If you can be perfect #1, then why aren’t you? And #2 if it’s up to you to be the (s)avior, then Jesus died for, and most importantly resurrected for NOTHING. Legalism is from the pit of hell…it was the first lie in the garden.
“Legalism leads to an emphasis on perfection, and falling short perfection leads to feelings of inadequacy and guilt…”
– Brandy Bronson …just wanted to give the credit.
Our works are filthy rags to God because our selfish pride gets in the way…look what I did, see how wonderful and helpful and good I am… Jesus did it ALL for you. Not after ALL you can do.
We need to realize this, and fully trust in His righteousness ALONE, and not our own. Sorry but, IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU.
Dead Faith = dead works. This is what James 2:8-9 is talking about, it’s Jesus’ finished work, Not ours,. And when we FULLY understand this, it’s then and only then we are given Jesus’ righteousness, and we’ll be judged on His righteousness, not ours PTL. After that, the good works follow, and we praise Jesus for them, not ourselves.
