Our post today comes courtesy of an ex-Mormon, Carl, who’s training to become a pastor! PTL!
As he was looking over his copy of an 1830 Book of Mormon, he immediately realized the contradictions of what he’d been taught as a child growing up in Mormonism.

Mosiah 3:11 “For behold, and also his blood atoneth for the sins of those who have fallen by the transgression of Adam, who have died not knowing the will of God concerning them, or who have ignorantly sinned.”

Article of Faith #2 “We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.”

Our Mormon references today along with Carl are the exact reason my heart breaks. It’s devastating to hear the stories of those who’ve lost family, and sometimes even homes or jobs because of Smith’s lies. Carl’s parents, and two brothers, are still temple Mormon so please pray for them!
As every Christian knows there’s no way we could thank Him enough for His mercy upon us – what a great God we serve!
If Jesus didn’t die for our sins, why pray tell, did He have to die? And why does the Church refer to Him as their Savior?
Furthermore, by adopting the 2nd Article of Faith as true the Church has essentially declared the entire Bible is a lie.
As it says in Proverbs, our holy and perfect Lord gives no allowances to such behavior. Somehow, Smith devised a religion that violates all seven things God listed in Proverbs chapter six.
Mormon doctrines and teachings are nothing less than deplorable, and today’s example is a drop in the bucket of what Smith produced. It seems the contradictory blasphemy has no end…sigh…
Proverbs 6:16-19 “These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness [that] speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”
Continue to pray for those who read the BoM knowing full well it contradicts the majority of Mormon theology. We ask that Jesus open their minds and follow Him instead of Joseph!

Michelle, thank you again for bringing this matter up again and I do remember talking about this when you first posted it. Something sad, both my parents have passed on ( Mom in 2018 and Dad in 2025) and with effort to share the saving gospel to both of them, the relied solely on the teachings of the Mormon church. My heart breaks for them and all LDS members for not really knowing the true Christ. I still have two brothers that belong to the LDS so if we could all pray for them to come to the true gospel.
