March 11 — Ensign, ‘Thou Shalt Not Bear Fase Witness’, October 1994 “…the ninth commandment is a strong declaration against covenant breaking, oath breaking, and all forms of untruth, including exaggeration, gross understatement, fabrication, or the willful giving of any explanation not supported by the facts.
Even sharing the truth can have the effect of lying when we tell only half-truths that do not give a full picture. We can also be guilty of bearing false witness and lying if we say nothing, particularly if we allow another to reach a wrong conclusion while we hold back information that would have led to a more accurate perception. In this case it is as though an actual lie were uttered.
Lying and misrepresentation in all of their forms are wrong, no matter how they may be rationalized, and those who silently let these evils pass unchallenged are also doing wrong.” — Robert J. Matthews

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, 9-10 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders… 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”

It should come as no surprise the Church would come up with something like this. Satan is a master manipulator and the father of lies — John 8:44.
I’ve met a lot of converts over the years and none of them were given the full story when they joined the Church. Two of those are my husband Kirk and my volunteer at the ministry, Melissa Grimes.
Remind the Mormon to do their homework when they see articles like the one mentioned above.
Also let them know you’re praying for them!

“willful giving of any explanation not supported by the facts”???
Well pretty much everything they teach is not supported by facts.
Based on this statement the leaders admit they lie. 🤨
Melissa,
No truer words could be spoken!
My theory is that you can tell someone in the Church is lying if their lips are moving. Sigh…
