Cross 3This past December I received an e-mail from a woman in Utah by the name of Brenda.

Brenda had just accepted the Lord into her life and wanted to share her experience with us here at LAM!  Praise God!!!

I’m posting her e-mails to me and as you’ll see she wasn’t the only one God saved in her family! Her husband Mike came to know the Lord as well and then as time went on they were baptized into Christ and wanted to share their stories with us!

Hi,

I discovered your site yesterday and I’ve read some of the articles.  I’m at work, so I will keep this short.  I just wanted to give you a quick summary of how I was saved.  In July of 2012 I was feeling suicidal.  Everything that I had ever done wrong as well as everything others had done wrong to me seemed to all come to a point at once.  I felt worthless.  I had a couple of customers talking about suicide as well, which didn’t help my cause.  I decided then that I was going to end it.  I bought some over the counter sleeping pills and combined them with my anti-depressants (about 30 or so) and took them all together.  I couldn’t breath and I got scared and had my wife drive me to the hospital. I was there 3 days.  I started praying asking God to help me.

TERRI HATCH-Testimony

I was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta in the tail end of 1979. I was a pretty sickly child and spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital. At age 2, I was having problems breathing and was wheezy and sweated all the time. My mom took me to doctor after doctor and finally one of them took an x-ray of my lungs. What he saw there put him in a bit of a panic, and he sent me out to Edmonton that day. Turned out that I had TB that was far enough advanced that I had holes in my trachea and a granuloma in my lungs that needed to be removed. So, I underwent surgery that left me with a scar halfway around my torso but also gave me the ability to breathe well, so that was a pretty good tradeoff.

Pursued by the One True God: My Journey Out of Mormonism

by Carla Mickelson

I was born and raised in the Mormon Church and was a faithful member for over 39 years. In May 2012 I left the Mormon Church for Christianity. For me, leaving Mormonism was spurred by something a dying pastor said to me at work one night. I was his nurse and I thought I was doing him a favor by letting him hold my hand and talk about Bible stories, but the pastor really blessed me by opening my eyes to Christ’s grace.

He told me that when Jesus was dying on the cross, He had taken upon Himself the sins of the world. He explained that all sin was judged once and does not need to be judged again if we accept Christ’s sacrifice for us. All other men will be judged by their works, but those who accept Jesus do not need to stand at the judgment seat because their sins were already paid for. This really affected me because it clarified for me how our sins were “nailed to the cross.”

Lee & Kathy

UPDATED INFO ON LEE & KATHY BAKER —

IT’S WITH A HEAVY HEART WE FOUND OUT EARLIER THIS YEAR (2019) THE BAKERS MADE A DECISION TO PUBLICLY ABANDON THE ONE AND ONLY GOD – CHRIST JESUS.

WE’VE BEEN IN PRAYER THEY’LL RENOUNCE THEIR DECISION, AND REPENT STRAIGHTAWAY.

WE’VE LEFT THEIR ORIGINAL POSTINGS ON OUR SITES BASED ON THE MANY E-MAILS, AND SEARCHES ON OUR SITES FOR THE INFO.

WITH THAT BEING SAID, THE FOLLOWING IS THE ORIGINAL INFO WE POSTED WHEN LEE INITIALLY CONTACTED US IN 2013.

As a former Mormon Bishop and member of the Church for over 32 years, I have come to know the Lord Jesus Christ. He had placed before my wife and I five years of spiritual and emotional trials, so that we may better know His grace.

The most enlightening and rewarding action a member of the Mormon Faith can do is precisely what they have been told to do: “Study the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Prophets of the Restoration”. From my personal family experience, one of the most dangerous elements of coming to know that the LDS Church is false, and certainly the most treacherous long-term effect of this knowledge, is the thought that, if I was wrong about the LDS Faith, is it possible that I have also been deceived by Christianity itself?. I know the discouraging and depressing fear well from considering that as I had been so thoroughly deceived, maybe I encouraged the deception by my own deep desire for it to be true.

Send us your testimony so we can post it with other testimonies of ex-Mormons!

You just can’t imagine how encouraging  it is to read the testimonies of those who’ve left and they’re a blessing to those who have never been LDS as well.

We’d love to hear from you and how the Lord led you out of the Church and into His arms of salvation!

With Love in Christ;

Michelle Grim

Exit story of Tanya W.

I wasn’t born into the Mormon Church; I was actually born and dedicated into a loving Christian church and family.  When I was 5 and my brother was 8 my Mother left my Dad for another man who was Mormon.  Because it wasn’t common practice in the 70’s for Dad’s to fight for custody we lived with our Mother.  I was baptized into the church when I was 8 and so was my Brother.  We thought that we were happier because of the church.  On the outside we were a very strong Mormon family.

Heather’s Testimony

My Testimony

These are things I believed with all my heart:

  • The Book of Mormon was the word of God and the most correct of any book.
  • Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God.
  • I was of royal birth, God being my Heavenly Father and Jesus my brother.
  • I was a righteous spirit in the pre-existence to have been born to white, LDS parents in these latter days.
  • I belonged to THE.ONLY.TRUE.CHURCH. on the planet.
  • I could become a god if I tried hard enough.

As you can imagine, I was feeling pretty good about my station in life.

I didn’t join the Mormon church, I was born into it. It was the only religion that I had ever known… I thankfully found out that Jesus can free you from the bondage and stranglehold of the LDS religion. If He can speak everything into existence, He can change hearts and lives with no problem!

TRACY

I grew up in a wonderful home—an only child until age ten; raised lovingly by my mother, aunt, and maternal grandparents. I was precocious, spoiled, and curious about the world around me. My mother had me baptized in a Methodist Church when I was four, but we only attended for a couple of months. My mother, aunt, and grandparents provided for my every need and taught me the values of integrity and respect for authority. Because I had very little formal religious training, I was left to my own devices on how to find spiritual truth.

JENN

I was born and raised a Utah Mormon. I was blessed with wonderful parents who loved me very much. I have many good childhood memories with them and my siblings.  My family was very active in the LDS Church and I was taught it was the only true Church on the Earth. I was taught that although other religions had ‘some truth’ to them, they were still all wrong.

Melissa 2

This beautiful woman has chosen to not use her last name.

I was born and raised in the Mormon Church. Baptized in Arizona, and finally left the church while living in Utah. I noticed subtle difference in the strict structure and lack of individuality between the Utah Mormons and Arizona Mormons.

MY TESTIMONY

I was raised in a Christian home despite the fact they we didn’t go to church often. My dad thought that you didn’t need to go to church all of the time to worship God. My siblings and I were taught the importance of prayer and of reading the Bible. Sadly, I never really studied the Bible. As I got older I began working and wasn’t able to attend church as I should have. Yet I still had a prayerful relationship with God and went to him for help and guidance all the time.

MY JOURNEY OUT OF MORMONISM AND INTO THE ARMS OF THE TRUE JESUS

“You’re playing with fire”, the voice inside my head said. I had just sat down in a Mormon ward for the first time in 21 years. I ignored the warning voice and the service began. How could a Christian woman who had spent the last 20+ years of her life studying the errors of Mormonism come back to what she knew was wrong? Let’s start at the beginning…
