So who was the real Joseph Smith? Well, it all depends on who you ask.
The LDS Church portrays him as the most important, pivotal man that ever walked the face of the earth.
The Christian community views him as a false prophet while the secular world (Christians too) sees him as a pedophile and philanderer.
June 27th marks the day Joseph Smith was shot and killed while in the Carthage Jail awaiting trial for charges of polygamy, treason and arson among other things. I thought it’d be a good idea to reflect on who Joseph really was and who he claimed to be. He is after all the entire reason Mormonism exists.
