Deuteronomy 13:1-3 “If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; 3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.”

salt lake mormon temple 2We’ve received many e-mails over the years from people (mostly Mormons) asking why we dig up so much past history, and our answer is always the same. We don’t go out of our way searching for sensationalistic material, rather, we do this to inform. Granted, we do have a vested interest in the Church’s activities, and the internet has made it much easier for us while researching the history of the Church.

Today, however, we didn’t need to search around at all for the Church’s false prophecies. While reading through the latest Ensign Magazine, we noticed the Church has no problem in keeping the false prophecies front and center to keep the confusion going.

salt lake mormon temple 2New Era, ‘People on Other Worlds,’ April 1971; “A great many Christians today…have long since abandoned the doctrine that man was created in the image of God. …

Long before our God began his creations, he dwelt on a mortal world like ours, one of the creations that his Father had created for him and his brethren. He, with many of his brethren, was obedient to the principles of the eternal gospel. One among these, it is presumed, was a savior for them, and through him they obtained a resurrection and an exaltation on an eternal, celestial world. 8 Then they gained the power and godhood of their Father and were made heirs of all that he had, continuing his works and creating worlds of their own for their own posterity—the same as their Father had done before, and his Father, and his Father, and on and on.

The Son of Man

Mormon Decisions 10Ensign, May 1992; “What is man?” asked the psalmist. (Ps. 8:4.) The answer: “[God] made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.” (Ps. 8:4–6.) It is, therefore, our responsibility to climb ever upward and to wear God-given crowns honorably. Young men, especially those of a “chosen generation” and “royal priesthood,” must understand that they are the spiritual offspring of God and that no one becomes in truth a man until he reverences the Father of spirits and allows inner powers to control his thoughts, words, and actions. (See 1 Pet. 2:9; Acts 17:28; Heb. 12:9.)” – Elder Carlos E. Asay, Presidency of the Seventy
