Romans 8:5; “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.”
How many times each day are we living ‘according to the flesh’? Do you stop to think about every action, and thought, you have on any given day? I know over the years I’ve become more alert to my reactions and even thoughts, to peripheral events around me. Our verse above gave me pause the other day when I came across the section of Pratt’s book.
Looking over many of the doctrines in Mormon canon, I was struck by the numerous times this phrase (according to the flesh) presented itself, so today we’re taking a look at just one example of how the Church has used it. I have to wonder if any of the Mormon people pick up on what Paul said in Romans…
