Today we’re looking at a unique Mormon tradition known as Patriarchal Blessings. Foregoing the fact this ceremony is much like a modern-day reading of a horoscope in a séance setting, we’re digging deeper at timelines.
Until 1978 the Church held fast to their racist ideology by excluding all non-whites from true Mormon salvation. Anyone with even a drop of Hamitic (aka African American, or what they called Negro) blood was excluded from holding their priesthood.
