Huntsman, Romney, Mormonism and Name Calling
While everyone’s busy pitching a fit over Pastor Jeffress’ comment this past weekend, the verdict is still out regarding John Huntsman’s comment about Jeffress in an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN this morning. True to form the Mormon side of things took a turn for the worse with Huntsman calling the pastor a “moron” and giving his opinion that Mormonism has nothing to do with the Presidential campaign.
So I have an opinion as you might imagine. When someone voices their opinion about any subject does it mean they’re a moron when they don’t agree with you? My husband Kirk was in the Air Force for 22 years. He served in the first Gulf War back in 1990-1991, dropped everything he was doing whenever his country called and he did this so you and I could continue to voice our opinions. Millions of Americans have done the same thing in the past 250+ years of this glorious nation. It would never occur to him to call someone a name because of their opinion.
You see I’ve been writing about Mormonism for almost twenty years now and warning people about the true story of Mormonism. Just about everybody I meet tells me the same thing about the Mormons; “They’re the nicest people I’ve ever met”.
Well let me tell you something about this. I’ve never met the kind of Mormons these people are talking about. While on the surface they do come across as cordial, amiable and your epitome of an all-American, just below the surface lies the anger and hatred geared towards anyone that disagrees with them. I’m generalizing I know – I do want to state here that I’m sure there are indeed Mormons who do not feel this way inside. My experience over the past 47 years has taught me that the majority of Mormons do not like Christians.
In my testimony I touched upon this. The day I got saved I fell to my knees and accepted the Lord. As I was walking out of that little church, God stopped me and impressed upon my spirit to turn around because He and I weren’t done at the altar. I had to go back and repent for vehemently hating the body of Christ.
Actually, vehemently isn’t the right word to use, but I’ve not found a thesaurus or dictionary in the English language that best describes the real hatred I held inside my heart for anyone who wasn’t a Mormon, and more specifically, the “Christians”.
I was taught for 29 years that the Christians were the “whores of Babylon” and that one thought is what kept me in the Mormon Church. I knew I was a lot of things, but I certainly didn’t want to be a whore.
In Matthew chapter 15 we read that Jesus had just saved Peter from drowning in the Sea of Galilee when the Pharisees began verbally attacking the Lord for allowing His disciples to eat with unclean hands.
Jesus told His disciples to listen up as He taught them a life lesson through a parable about the heart. In Matthew 15:18-19 He said;
“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.”
You see, you can vote for Romney or Huntsman if you think that guy is going to bail our country out of its bad habits of overindulgence. Our spending habits are that of a two year old.
I say look at his track record – all the candidates’ track records. What do they tell you? Did they do what they promised for the state they represented? And what about their moral character? I personally don’t want a president who is sleeping around with his staff and I don’t want a president who acts as if he likes everyone, but inside he can’t stand you.
Huntsman’s comment about Pastor Jeffress is unbiblical, unprofessional and most certainly un-presidential.
Would you vote for someone who believes that black people are black because they’re cursed by God? The Mormons haven’t changed their views on that. Today, October 10, 2011 the Mormon people believe black people are living out the curse of Cain. They’ll accept the blacks into their church now because they have to, but that doesn’t mean they’ve changed their views about blacks.
And what about abortion? Is a balanced budget worth the price of allowing abortions in America? The Mormon Church says they don’t believe in abortion, but under the surface they make allowances for it in the case of rape or incest or if the mother’s health is in danger or if the baby is deformed.
It’s most definitely your choice and you or anybody else shouldn’t be subjected to name calling just because you don’t agree with them. Isn’t that why you’d be running for president to begin with?
If the pastor who’s never been a Mormon tells the truth publicly about Mormonism, how would they (Huntsman or Romney) treat those of us who left their religion and speak out about it?
For those who will tell me the pastor was name calling, let me answer that now.
Identifying and explaining what something is or isn’t, is not name calling. Mormonism fits the definition of a cult. Does the pastor fit the definition of a moron? Here’s the dictionary’s definition of moron:
“A person who is notably stupid or lacking in good judgment”
The pastor doesn’t look like he’d fit the bill. If Huntsman is a Christian then why does he not love his brother in Christ? 1 John 3:13-15;
“Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
14 We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.”
