God’s Wrath
D&C 101:11; “Mine indignation is soon to be poured out without measure upon all nations; and this will I do when the cup of their iniquity is full.”
Prophecy given in Kirtland, OH on December 16, 1833. Also see History of the Church 2:458-464.
As of 2006, it’s been 176 yrs. What is the meaning of “soon”? Additionally, those whom Joseph was prophesying against are now dead so it’s past the time for their cup of iniquity to be poured out.

First of all, he is prophesying concerning nations, not specific people. The United States is still here, as is Great Britain, France, and every other major world power that existed at that time. There also still exists all races and nationalities that existed at that time. Thus, to say that the people he was prophesying against are dead is wrong.
It is just like all the prophesies against Israel that took a generation or two to be fulfilled.
However, I think his indignation has been poured out in part. It began with the American Civil War, increased with WWI, reached a peak in WWII, and ahs continued basically non-stop for several decades.
It will be poured out without measure, when the entire world has reached full iniquity, or when it is once again as it was in the days of Noah (Matthew 24: 37-38; Luke 17: 26-27). The world has not yet reached that level of wickedness, and until it does God will not destroy it.
