Blood Atonement or Not?
Ether 8:19; “For the Lord worketh not in secret combinations, neither doth he will that man should shed blood, but in all things hath forbidden it, from the beginning of man.”
Doctrines of Salvation 1:135; “Joseph Smith taught that there were certain sins so grievous that man may commit, that they will place the transgressors beyond the power of the atonement of Christ. If these offenses are committed, then the blood of Christ will not cleanse them from their sins even though they repent. Therefore their only hope is to have their own bloodshed to atone, as far as possible, in their behalf. This is scriptural doctrine, and is taught in all the standard works of the Church.”
Which one is true?

I wrote something about his doctrine. It has Mitt Romney and Mormon in the title. Good blog.
Michelle – Perhaps we should ask “silver” (who commented on Dilemma 370) which one is true…
Maybe “many plain and precious things had been lost from the Book of Mormon over the centuries”
Anyways, just to even hint that Jesus’ Blood doesn’t cover all sins is blasphamy and constitutes false doctrine. When false doctrine is taught by a self proclaimed “prophet” of God, don’t be afraid of that man. Rebuke him and if he doesn’t recant, bring 2 or more brothers to confront him. If he still persists in proclaiming the false doctrine, put him out of the synagouge. ( I mixed some Old and New Testament there…)
Jesus paid the debt that He didn’t owe, because we owed a debt that we couldn’t pay.
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe.
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow!
